PINE (LONGLEAF) (Pinus palustris)

Pine essential Oil is extracted from the needles, cones and twigs of the tree. It is grown commercially in northern Europe and North America.

Pine was used by the ancient Greeks and Romans as it still is in saunas throughout Scandinavia. The needles were burnt to drive away insects, infections and clean rooms of germs.

The pure essential oil has a very strong balsamic, camphor smell similar to crushed pine needles and is both stimulating and antiseptic.

In aromatherapy, Pine Essential Oil is a strong germ-killer and tonic excellent for any viral infections.

USES

Massage, baths, inhalation, poultice.
It makes an effective household disinfectant for the bathroom or to deodorise shoes.

CAUTION

Pine essential oil is perfectly safe for home use as long as it is well diluted before application.
