Mandarin Essential
Oil is extracted from the peel of the ripe fruit of the citrus tree.
It is native
to southern China and the Far East but is now grown for oil in Brazil, Mexico,
Italy, Florida and the West Indies.
Mandarin is named because fruit was a traditional gift to the Mandarin lords of China for centuries, although the fruit did not reach Europe until the 1880s. Today it is used to flavour drink and food, and, as a fragrance in perfume and toiletries.
Pure Mandarin essential oil has a sweet, orange and lemon smell and is sedative. It has a calming effect.
USES:
Massage, baths,
inhalation.
It makes a wonderful
massage for buttocks, hips and thighs.
Put a few drops of Mandarin Essential
Oil in a hot bath
for a deeply relaxing and uplifting soak, or inhale a few drops from a tissue
whenever you feel tense or tired.
CAUTION:
Mandarin essential
oil should be used in moderation as it may irritate skin, especially if it is
exposed to sunshine after application.
Store in a cool,
dark place.
