Lime Essential Oil is extracted from the peel of the unripe citrus fruit Limes are grown for their oil in Florida, Mexico, Italy and the West Indies.
Limes, like lemons
were originally given to British sailors who ate the fruit to reduce the risk
of scurvy: Hence the name, 'limey'.
Today it is used
as a flavouring in food and drink and a fragrance in cleansers and male toiletries.
Pure Lime Essential Oil has a sharp, sweet citrus peel smell and is antiseptic, anti-viral, anti-bacterial and is a good warming stimulant and tonic.
USES:
Massage, bath,
inhalation, poultice.
It is good for a warming massage or as an astringent facial.
Lime Essential Oil makes an excellent warming
bath in winter, or a refreshing energising bath in summer.
CAUTION:
Lime essential
oil should be used in moderation as it may irritate skin, especially if it is
exposed to sunshine after application.
Store in a cool
dark place.
