Cajaput essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves and twigs of the cajaputi tree which is grown in Indonesia.
The name Cajaput comes from the Malay 'Caju-Puti' meaning white tree, this oil was used for its antiseptic qualities. It has been used since the 17th century by Europeans.
The yellowish-green essential oil has a penetratingly, sweet, herbaceous aroma.
In aromatherapy, Cajaput essential oil is used as a germ killer.
USES Massage, bath, inhalation. Dilute Cajaput essential oil with a carrier for a massage to relieve muscles and joints. Do not swallow.
CAUTION: Use Cajaput essential oil with care. Dilute with carrier oil before application to the skin. If gargled do not swallow.
